trying to keep it clean

Untitled
The Kitchen After
i have been trying to keep the communal parts of the house clean.it's been a struggle since the baby. not blaming her, just love to be with her and the other kids. she's kind of amazing. anyway, back to the house cleaning business. the past few days i have been taking pictures and posting them to the blogs Facebook page. it's sort of an accountability, for me.

i am also trying to keep my mouth clean. i don't know what in the world came over me, but my language was getting pretty foul. maybe it was watching a rereun of Real Housewives of New Jersey. i really don't know. slowly, but surely i am cleaning it up.

Jimmy has been on a wild goose chase to get a copy of his Baptismal records. So far, we have a copy of his First Holy Communion records. It came with a letter about his Baptism. He is on his way to recieving communion. WOOP!

Forts and Messy Rooms

Friday Forts

There is nothing quite as awesome as building a fort on Friday morning. What makes it more awesome is the twinkling of Christmas lights. I helped the "three amigos" build a fort for their enjoyment. They had a ball playing in it, reading in it and of course singing in it. Mostly I just heard,.."shake, shake, shake your bootie" followed by giggles.

Waylon Forts

As you can see that under the couch is a book, this is not uncommon unless I do a good cleaning of the front room. If I see the stuff I will pull it out or have someone else grab it out. Right now my bedroom looks like a hurricane of dresses and skirts. It's not that I am a bad housekeeper, I've just never been so weak or sick in my life. I will have a burst of energy and do a few things and next thing I know I am waking up from a nap I didn't know I was taking.
Of course through my life as a homemaker I have had times of depression where I did nothing much except care for the kids, Jimmy cleaned the house. That depression is long behind me, this is pure exhaustion. It's upsetting that people in my family would tell me to clean my house, and that a couple flies are a reason to leave. Trust me, I hate flies...but, we live by horses and we have a few animals. I think I am just venting and really the people who have hurt me on this would never consider me anything more than lazy.

On a good note Maggie has advanced in her reading and Waylon is reading now. Maggie and I are writing a chicken story. :)

"Housekeeping is incredibly difficult with three kids. I'm trying to be more relaxed. You'll go insane if you try to have a picture-book house."

Prepping for a New Year

It's obvious this family has had quite a chaotic year. Between battling addiction, being on tv , getting kids in and out of doctors, hospital visits and wandering hearts...it's a wonder we've managed to stay intact. In reality we have not been a whole family for a year until recently. I felt like I have lost a whole year of family. Oh man, that was really hard to type but, it's reality it is what it is.
I took on the task of cleaning our house, as thorough as I can before the first. Devoting myself to one room at a time while praying over it. This is a test as for some time this year my personal relationship with God has been strained. I felt if God really loved me why would I be put through such things, I should know better. So, I am getting back on track with a few things in regards to that.
I tackled the kitchen as best as I could. My hips and tailbone paid for sure. I ended up in a ho shower later in the evening after dinner. The cold weather and second menstrual cycle in a month has left everything from the waist down riddle with aches and pains. Trying birth control as well as left my stomach and brain a mess. I feel like I have the flu and am so emotional I cry everyday.
I played Barrel of Monkey's with Hezekiah on one cleaning break and we ate lunch outside since the kitchen was our of commission. It was a productive day.

And because I can...
