Free Child

Not not free for the taking. Free to be who they are and not who I want them to be. These are old iPhone pictures. I like looking through and seeing how the kids are coming into their own. How they are just so happy and usually confidant in who they are and what they do. 

Dear Child,

Be free! Stay free! You are perfect being you and not someone else. Do you know what a joy it is being your mom? Oh, I know you think I don't think I like anything you do, it's just your age. I do think you are talented, and not just how you can tear up a clean living room and build a fort with my vintage tablecloths. 

Do you know you are smart? No, I don't mean a smart ass...well, that as well. You don't know how smart you are just yet, one day you will see. You teach me things I would have never knows. I didn't know the creator of Pokemom was on the spectrum, I never knew that! I never knew that Bronies were a real thing. I didn't know that you could use a sharp pencil to create texture on clay. I didn't know that you could laugh and poop on your dads leg at the same time.

Keep teaching me! Keep telling me all the things I don't want to hear, and then remind me....I blogged that it was okay.

Did you know that when you question things, inside it makes me proud! Want to know why? Because, I know you will question things that just don't sit right with you. You won't just say, "Okay." and go right along with it. Say that, don't ask why a full trash can needs to go out or why I stayed in my pajamas all day. 

Why are you already trying to crawl, why are you getting so tall? I know, you're a free to grow and explore. It's hard to see you do things before I am ready. Wait, I know I am not here to hold you back. I am not here to say you can't do something to make your life better and fulfilled.

I gave you wings to fly, not to clip so you won't leave the coop.

Color Me Beautiful

Oh my joy and my love. This beautiful boy has finally healed from his surgery. No more CSF flowing in and out of his skull. We still have to be careful and we await his next appointments, one that we had to cancel due to him being kicked off insurance (thanks Verizon). We are waiting on his protective headgear, which he should still use.

This boy brighten my day with his creativity and questions, he can also leave the biggest messes....that's what four year olds do. 

I am forever grateful and humbled by the outpouring of love and prayers that have and still come his way.

Tree Climbing

My kids crack me up. They love to be outside and up in trees in the middle of a wind storm. They love to go outside when it's raining hard looking for animals to save.

The other day was no exception. The climbed trees in the wind, looking for cats that may have wondered into our yard and into a tree. They really do have kind hearts.

No animals were found, except our hen. She was wear she belonged. Our big dog looked on like a scared nanny. Maybe he's a canine manny...hahah

I am just so blessed with these kids, even when they drive me crazy. What adventures are your kids into these days?

Apple Field Trip

 

 He was really concentrating. Sometimes I wonder what he is thinking.

 This kid asked a lot of questions.

   

 The Apple Genius was so nice and patient. I do recommend this trip when it is available in your area. They made movies that were put onto a bracelet thumb drive and it was all free. I was very happy to be able to take the kids on this trip. A lot of people think unschoolers sit around playing games or brewing tea all day, it isn't always so. Some days we invade malls or grocery stores.
