Waylon Turns 10

I'm not sure where the time went. You know, when you grew up and became so funny. When you got so smart and your vocabulary became so big, I think it was between Carson Street and Main Steer that your intellect blossomed. I think you might agree.
I miss seeing you in your NASA coveralls. Perhaps I should order you the set you never had. I see big things in your future.i hope I can help you see just how special and talented you are. I love that you read so much and that you like to talk about interesting things. You're above your years, Waylon. That's not a bad thing, never dumb yourself down to make others feel better. I love you and your dinosaur obsession.

Maggie Rae You're 12

My goodness! When did you get so old? Okay, I know you're still young. But, 12 seems too old for this momma. You've come a long way this past year, even with some serious setbacks. You're conquering fears, fighting your depression and anxiety. You're learning more about yourself, even finding out that you fit the ticket for aspergers/autism. You're challenging yourself everyday, and on the days you can't you're still overcoming so much.
We butt heads more this past year than even before. That's just how life has been, but we always come back and mend. Like me, you've learned to admit and ask for forgiveness for faults and wrong doings.
You're learning and putting to work your prayers. This momma couldn't be happier to be part of your life.
I love you and prayerfully hope 12 is better than 11.

Dexter at 14

My goodness! Where does the time go? It wasn't long ago you were a small right pound bsby at my breasts. It wasn't king ago that you were sitting on my lap as I read aloud to you, baby books, kids books and books I was reading. It wasn't long ago you were climbing on me as I wrote sociology papers and did algebra when I was pregnant with Joaquin. It wasn't long ago you were learning to read and to ride a bike. It wasn't long ago that we were eye to eye...then you passed me up. Your voice began to change and we started to laugh at uncomfortable subjects. Then you started reading banned books, babysitting and being more of your own person. It wasn't long ago that I looked at you and remembered that 14 years is your whole lifetime and yet, it's just a drop of what's to come. I love you Dexter.

Yep, I Am 37

On May 2nd I turned 37 years old. What the heck happened this last year. I feel like I have let myself go. I was sad and unkempt on my birthday. Dexter was in pain and was trying to put on a happy face. Poor kid.

When I was much younger, I never thought about 37. I never thought far ahead. It wasn't until more people my age started passing away or getting really sick. So here I am thinking about death. Not really my death, but Jimmys. My fear, thanks to statistics, is that he will pass first. I have a couple kid who this will put over the edge. Not that all of them won't have a hard time...there are just a couple who are fragile in general.

37 also has  been thinking about my health. I am fairly healthy. But, I know with age and weight certain things can creep up. So I am hoping to get more active and more fit. I have a son who wants to join in with me on that. He rocks.

I am hoping during this next year I start and finish a certain project I have been talking about. I will get back to wear I want to be fashion wise, that's part of my artistic expression. I hope in the next year I grow closer with my kids. I hope I grow closer with my husband.

Weekend Update

Friday evening was a get together at my moms house. My sister and her family were down before military transfer. We celebrated her daughters first birthday. It was nice time.

Saturday, we had a family reunion. That by far was the best day of the weekend. At first I was unsure, seeing how it was 107 degrees here and raining when we left. Once we got over the hill, it was soooo much cooler. It sprinkled and rained a bit. There were lots of clouds in the sky and a nice breeze. The kids played and got messy, food was good... the company was good. It's always good to see my extended family.

Sunday, was lazy day. Then I started to clean up my room and worry about Hezekiah set in., All the "what ifs" started dancing in my brain and teasing me. Needless to say, it caused some tears. I don't think very straight in that state. It passed after a bit. Glad it's Monday and I woke up with all my kids home, happy and relativity healthy.

A Boy Turns Six

Webmaster

Meet six year old Waylon. Oh goodness, he is six now. He is full of remarkable comments and quite an imagination at times. Spiderman is his favorite superhero, and he loves iced tea. He likes chocolate cake and cheesy pizza on special occasions. For snacks he likes carrots and celery. He is learning to read and loves to look at the atlas on his iPad. He is fourth of my children and is a good brother.

Super Guy

Waylon spent his birthday playing superheroes with his sister, making crafts and enjoying "the best birthday ever." He played at the park and was excited to get Darth Vader ear buds. I wonder what the next year will bring for my curly haired, cherub faced child.....only time will tell.
