Forts and Messy Rooms

Friday Forts

There is nothing quite as awesome as building a fort on Friday morning. What makes it more awesome is the twinkling of Christmas lights. I helped the "three amigos" build a fort for their enjoyment. They had a ball playing in it, reading in it and of course singing in it. Mostly I just heard,.."shake, shake, shake your bootie" followed by giggles.

Waylon Forts

As you can see that under the couch is a book, this is not uncommon unless I do a good cleaning of the front room. If I see the stuff I will pull it out or have someone else grab it out. Right now my bedroom looks like a hurricane of dresses and skirts. It's not that I am a bad housekeeper, I've just never been so weak or sick in my life. I will have a burst of energy and do a few things and next thing I know I am waking up from a nap I didn't know I was taking.
Of course through my life as a homemaker I have had times of depression where I did nothing much except care for the kids, Jimmy cleaned the house. That depression is long behind me, this is pure exhaustion. It's upsetting that people in my family would tell me to clean my house, and that a couple flies are a reason to leave. Trust me, I hate flies...but, we live by horses and we have a few animals. I think I am just venting and really the people who have hurt me on this would never consider me anything more than lazy.

On a good note Maggie has advanced in her reading and Waylon is reading now. Maggie and I are writing a chicken story. :)

It's Not All Morning Sickness

Untitled

Granted I have been pretty sick, even right before these pictures this morning. If you have ever suffered such a thing, you like me may wonder why we don't come out of pregnancy with tight abs. I feel like I look full term, of course I had extra weight to start. The extra weight was no big deal until now. I will be grateful when the so called "morning sickness" passes. For me it has been more like, "sick all day long".

Untitled

My kids are such characters. Just looks at those faces, don't you want to hug the heck out of them? I know I do most days. Some days....well, some days I need a time out. Watching them become their own person is mostly a joy. Then there are moments when I think "Where did that child spawn from?" Then I realize, with great dismay/excitement they are my children. The oldest keeps talking about 4Chan. He can go on four h..o..u..r..s.... He says "I'm not an internet troll, I am a LOLZ Cat. I am eats your cake." My child!

Untitled

I have been able to use a few things from the lil homestead for cooking. So far it has been rosemary and eggs. Look at those yokes. Dinner was scrummy tonight. I am looking forward to some amazing tomatoes and such to come in. We still have beds to build and hopefully this will be the year our garden goes year round. After a few years of research I am pretty sure I know what to plant in our zone.

Untitled

Here are some pictures from some after dinner shenanigans. Kids love playing in the mud. It was fun to watch. What kid does not like some messy play? I fed the hens their dinner and watered the garden. I have started drying out flowers from the yard for what I hope become Christmas gifts. I would love them all to be homemade this year. We shall see since the baby is due a couple weeks beforehand.
Right now I am happy living life as best as I can.

This and That

Untitled

As you can see we've been kind of busy in the garden. It's a magical mess of something growing where they were not planted. Maybe fast erosion from watering. Who knows? Either way just being out in the dirt and greens makes us all pretty dang happy.

Saturday we went to Autism Rocks! It was basically another awesome day for celebrating Autism and getting info out to people who may not understand it. The kids had a blast playing games and listening to music. There was an Elvis impersonator and some puppet who sang.

There hasbeen a lot I want to blog about, just no real motivation...err energy. Yeserday, I spent a good amount of times making readers for Maggie and Waylon that they had requested. I have utilized the crockpot A LOT as of late. Call me lazy but, dinner gets done.

Mothers Day was spent not feeling hot. I got flowers, dinner and homemade cards. Dexter bought me a blouse from a yard sale, hello awesome! In the evening Dexter and I went to the Goodwill, I found a couple dresses and Dexter got some VHS tapes. He is so retro. I will post a blog later about other things. Until then, stay groovy!

Been Busy

Untitl<a href=

Been busy living life with my kids. Last weekend we went to the Art Hop in Banning. We had a good time and look forward to next year. It was great, the big boys went off on their own for a bit while me and the little did little kid things. It was pretty great. After that we went to Free Comic Book Day at our local store. THAT WAS REALLY GREAT! The owners and staff are super nice.

Untitled

Monday we visited our local Lego shop called Bricks and Figs! Those owners are super nice. They are really chatty and helpful. The kids played and we got some keychains, plus Toy Story minifigs! That place is awesome. I look forward to their summer programs.

Untitled

Yesterday Hezzie saw his neurologist, Dr. Aaen. He is pretty amazing and on it. He was glad to hear that the seizures have stopped since the meds. He confirmed his Autism and ordered some therapies. I know some unschoolers don't believe in diagnosis or therapies but, I know my child is frustrated and speech has been helpful. Anyhow, that's my thing.

Life has been busy, great, crazy and most of all it's been lived. Now if the meanies will leave me and the nausea, life would be AMAZING! Got to love pregnancy.

Local History

Temecula Valley Museum

Untitled

We had such a good time. The museum was a pretty nice. It wasn't too big, but we rode in an elevator. The cowboy dress up area was fun. They have hands on exhibits and some for just looking.
Untitled

I wish I could of touched the kitchen and pharmacy things. It was really neat to see pictures of some of the families that shaped the area. I would like to see more Native American history included.

Untitled

I had to post this TV. What's not to love?

Hemet Museum

Untitled

I wish I had made a video this place. It's a small museum, part of an old train depot. But, this place is packed with local history. NO JOKE!

Untitled

The man giving us a tour and talking to us knew so much. He was good with the kids and very patient. I will go back and explore more.

Untitled

Phone switchboard anyone?
Learning to appreciate local history is something that has to be hands on. The kids have loved this and are thriving on it. It's easy to pack a lunch, drinks and get on the road and explore. I hope you all are discovering local history...a small yet fun part of the whole world. What do you think you'll discover? We found out, specialty roses were grown locally in Hemet. In San Jacinto a Russian airplane made an emergency landing!!!

Slacker Blogger

Untitled

Today we went to the San Bernardino County Museum. It was so fun.We got to see TONS of beautiful animals. There is so many real stuffed birds and such. Almost every bird they had, had eggs. That was so amazing. Hezzie loves eggs of all kind, he didn't want to leave the bird area.
Untitled

That is Maggie and Hezzie touching a blue tongued Skink. It's from Australia. How awesome is that? The volunteers there are so nice. Never a mean or gruff tone. There were also a lot of field trips from the local schools.

Untitled

We can not wait to go back.

Untitled

In other news registered for Wide Sky Days, Unschooling Conference. We are excited, our first year going. It'll be nice to be part of such an amazing community of people.
My pregnancy, well that has been not treating me well. So sick to my stomach lately. I hope it passes soon. My life suffers but, I move on. I love life and am not going to let a minor onset of motion sickness keep me down.
