Books and Junk

Here is what I am reading now, or will be reading in the next month. If you want, read along and tell me what you think.

Scouting News

I am hoping and praying that is be Gods will that my Den Leader uniform is here and ready before Blue and Gold next week. Had a good talk with the boys parents in my den about looking neat in uniform and patches being in the right spots. They were very receptive, thank goodness.
I found Joaquin a troop that is excited to have him. He will go the week after next. Dexter will be in a Venturing Crew by summers time. That is exciting. Something he will do without any of his siblings under his heels. I am sure it will great for him. He wants to be more active and adventurous.
Good things happen at Roundtable.

In Other News

Just over a week away from Dexters 13th Birthday Celebration. Heck yeah! A 50's Zombie Dance Party. Also, next Wednesday is our 14th wedding anniversary...that's crazy.
Not much else...

3rd Annual unBirthday Party

We had the best turn out this year. I think we had roughly 70 or so people. I put pictures on this blogs Facebook page. Oh, my stars, it was a great day. No accidents, no crying fits...just kids playing and parents visiting. The pool suffered some, needs the grass cleaned out of it. The water slide was, as always a hit. I jokingly keep saying that it was snowcones that brought the crowd.
It was just a great day, despite the heat I fared well. However, I did nap a lot today....sshhhh!!!

It was just so amazing to see some people I haven't seen since my late teens (Natalie and Alisha), and see people I don't see often enough. I think I might actually do what I say every year, start planning and buying soon for next year. :D

I got asked why we do this party. Here is a simple answer: Why not? Just kidding. We have five kids in the home currently. We do things for and with them on their birthdays. Once a year we do this BIG party now, and celebrate with all the people we think are awesome. Gifts not expected. This year the kids got some great games and toys. (games linked below)

I hope everyone who came had fun, celebrating life and love.

Momma

Weekend In Review

Saturday, Waylon had a Cub Scout swim party. It was pretty fun for him. He made a friend. It's nice to see him around kids and being unashamed to be himself. It was also nice that even though he is water weary, he was not made fun of. Not many from the pack showed up, so it was low key and not very loud. I visited with some of the parents for awhile, and it's always interesting to see how adults interact. I have grown used to limited adult interaction that is in person. For my kids, I will learn to move beyond my own comfort.

Saturday evening, we went to a birthday party and had a good time. I photographed the Hello Kitty themed party. This was a nice size crowd and there was lots of food. My friend really can put a themed together. Here are a few pictures from that.

We started to clean up and move things around yesterday for our big once a year unBirthday Party. That takes place this Sunday. Waterslide, snow cones, pool, trampoline and lots of food. Here is a picture of last years waterslide, she will be making a return visit! What did you do this weekend?
